How I made this 2nd movie

First of all, I wanted to use the music that my friend worte for the game music, but it was not used for it because the client thoght it didn't fit to their game. I liked the electrinic sound so much,so I asked my freind if I could use his song for my 2nd movie and he was happy with it. I started to think what image would fit this music. I thoght some dynamic and modern imgage would fit, so my focus on this movie was to make image fit into the speed and the dynamics of the sound. This time, I wanted to use i-movie because other classmates are all using it and I had it..

The first moving file is the music video of the song, 'jeffer' by boys noize.

The next scene of the dancing scene of blue and red face is the live performance image of the 'chemical brothers' at pentafort rock festival in 2007. ( Downloaded from YouTube)

The male and female dancers in white dress is the image of 'Marie Chiounard - le Sacre du Printemps' which I also downloaded from the Youtube.

The next scene of the nature and the crowded people are the imgage of the commercial of the 'sea of Skin- vaseline' which I also donwnloaded from YouTube.com.

The dancing on the mattress and the astranut is the imgage of 'Icelandic Dance Company - Screensaver' also from YouTube.


The last secene of man and woman dancing is the image of 'Pilobolus: A performance merging dance and biology' I downloaded from YouTube.com.

Mostly I used the pre-set transition of the i-movie for the transitions of the scenes.

I found this song recenlty and the melody is ringing in my head, so I wanted to upload this video. I think I want to use this song in next week's class.

i movie

Since all the classmates are using i-movie, I started to use i- movie from my Mac G5 desktop computer. ( I have one PC desktop, one Mac G5 desktop, one PC lap top and one tiny little pc net book which for the carrying because I can't carry heavy things) I'm planning to use i-movie for making the 2nd movie. I'm trying to use an electronic piece my freind worte and am trying to find some fiitng imgages for the dynamice and the atmpsphere of the music. I find that there are abondant of sources of moving file on line wich makes me happy.. and I find using i-movie is easier than using Adobe premire.

The first movie about me.

Like an essay, I just wanted to put thing that I like such as rain,food and coffee and the places I was born and living now, Korea and New York and so on. I used the music I made for the soccer game music for the Korean game company in 2006. In the last scene where the earth is zoomed out and finally shows the earth in the universe, I wanted to express that I'm a tiny being belong to this universe.



I tried to use the window movie maker at first, but I couldn't find the function I really needed, so I used my G5 Mac. Quad desktop which my uncle gave me with the whole set of Adobe programs which used in his cd-making company. He had whole set of Adobe for the use of the company and he gave it when he closed the company. I remember he said 'try to make good music with this computer' when he gave the computer to me. Its a dual processor and it works pretty well with the Logic 8 version. I remember I heard the ' Adobe premier' is a good for editing film so I started to explore with it and I just used like 3 or 4 basic functions like dissolve, rotation and a preset function of transition. In the latter part of the scene is where I spent most of the time to make it fit into the speed of the music. First, I put the moving file I downloaded in one time line and I made the speed and duration 300% which make a scene to be played three times faster and I overlapped one more layer of time line with the scene of lights and applied the same speed change and made the opacity to 50% so it can be transparent with another image. For the 2nd bridge of the music, I wanted to find the sky scene and I could find it from the website, artbeat.com and I downloaded it and just used it. I wanted find out all the zooming out images from the earth and I could find the zooming out earth moving file from the scene of some advertisement in some web-stie and I could use it for the ending.

I found this very interseting vedio about how our way of archiving and sharing information has changed today. I guess this also applies to the changes in in the concept of space, community and the way of collaboration. Hope you enjoy!

As Dr.Gilbert mentioned at the last ceremony of IMPACT, today is the age of collaboration and I think collaboration can be regarded as a fruit of many things: identity, individuality and social being and a society, communication, problem solving, creativity and so on. What makes this collaboration more exciting is that we don't know exactly what it will be like at the beginning and I think it's one of the beauty of collaboration and ,in a way, is similar to the beauty of our life that we don't know what will come ahead and that makes life worthy of living.
